I enjoyed reading through the Bible a lot last year. Here are a couple Bible reading plans that would be useful for 2009. Last year, I used the Discipleship Journal Bible reading plan as a guide. It is helpful by breaking down the daily reading into sections. Each day has a reading from 2 Old Testament, 1 Psalms or Proverbs, and 1 New Testament selections. It worked well to get a grasp of some of the Old and New Testament connections each day! This year I am starting the Legacy Bible reading plan from Hank Hanegraff’s website. The Legacy reading plan works through the Bible using different quarterly groupings (Hebrew Pentateuch and Hebrew Poetry, Hebrew History, Hebrew Prophets, and the New Testament). There are many others out there. Reading the Bible in a year is not something to check off a life long to do list. The most important thing is to read it to get the complete picture of the God’s redemption plan from the beginning through prophesies until its completion on the cross and meaning to life after Jesus’ death. Check one out for yourself and enjoy!
