As one of our regular ministry outreaches, we have started focusing on a neighborhood near downtown Kaohsiung to spend time sharing with the people. It has been great. Chris and Mike have spent many weeks in the area getting to know people at the park and following up the contacts throughout the following weeks. Julie, Rachel, and I have just been able to start accompanying them over the last few weeks. The last time I was with Mike I was able to share with Mrs. Long. Mike acted as my translator. Mike has already had a lot of experience with sharing in Taiwanese and I have just a small grasp of the language so he was able to illustrate the story of Christ very well. As we shared, we also asked Mrs. Long about her background and family. She liked telling us about her family and house. She also told us she had no formal education, so she could not even read Chinese. I did not know how well we were communicating with her as we sat and talked on her front porch. It was amazing to see that through prayer the Holy Spirit was communicating to her where we were lacking. Even though that day we could only spend a small amount of time with her, she became a believer and we are able to return regularly. It is awesome to see God work!
