NEW LIFE FOR KAOHSIUNG!!

Hope Harvest February ministry highlights:

In January, we told you about plans to start a new church.  We launched New Life Bilingual Church three weeks ago and we are excited to say God is working beyond what we could imagine.

We had over 60 people attend the first service and at least 50 in each service since.  The majority of those coming are not Christians.  Because it is bilingual (Chinese and English) many come just for an English experience.  But after coming, they are saying something quite different.

Here are a few of the responses our core group has heard:

• “I never knew the Bible talked about the things that I struggle with and gave clear answers.”

• “This is the first time I have gone to church and not been bored.”

• “This makes me want to know more about the Bible.”

• “I can’t explain it, but my heart is lifted when I come here.”

These kinds of responses reflect what we felt was going to happen in the new church.  We are seeing non-Christians bring their friends and they are asking for message notes from previous weeks.  That didn’t happen very often in our two church plants in the US.

PRAYER REQUESTS FOR NEW LIFE BILINGUAL CHURCH

1.  We have already had opportunities to start new seeker studies with people attending the church.  Pray that we can see these develop and pray the many seekers coming to the church will open their hearts to Christ.

2. Pray for the believers at New Life.  We are developing a strategy of training and equipping to help every believer be a minister of the Good News.  Pray for the development of leaders for the church.

3. Pray for Kaohsiung Baptist Church.  They are our hosts and we are asking God to prosper their ministry even as they resource the new church with a nice worship setting.
