Teaching English

I have been in Taiwan for one year already. One of the most difficult things over the past year was teaching English (especially since I have never studied teaching). The job always took a lot of energy and emotion. But it was a great experience, because God continued to show me his provision by providing teaching skills. I so often fell short of being a capable teacher by myself, but God’s help gave me the ability to communicate to my students in a way that not only increased their English skills, but also showed them the love of Christ. Many times I needed extra patients, care, and consideration dealing with the students, when usually it would have been easier not to try or care. But God realized these days and helped greater. He also used parents, staff, and students to encourage me throughout the year through small messages, smiles, and laughter! This year has been a great experience and I have loved following God as a teacher. Please pray as I consider the possibilities for the next year in Taiwan and how God plans to use my life here one more year.
